Here's What I Think
Tuesday, June 28, 2016
Good afternoon, and I'm sorry if I haven't gotten around to finishing these list of my most anticipated books; I've been very busy with other chores around the house and I figured that if I finished this list, I'd take too long, but now that I'm back, I intend to finish this bad boy of a list!
Time to my finish my most anticipated books!
Treasure Island
Coming from the same author of Dr Jeykll and Mr Hyde, this looks to be, just as probably more exciting and fun than the author's other spooky horror story about a doctor-turned monster. The reason that more excited for this book more than Jeykll is because of it's a story about treasure-hunting, pirates, and adventure, and considering that I grew up watching Disney's Treasure Planet when I was in middle-school, that's saying kind of a lot. I'm also kind of a sucker for stories and/or movies about pirates, and it will be very interesting to read about the beloved characters, especially the legendary Long John Silver, whom I'm very interested to know about from this classic tale. And considering that this book has had a lot of adaptions in TV and film, it shouldn't be to hard to get into.
Amulet series
Back when I was very young, I mostly read books for pictures, and there were 2 book series that I'd read more than anything, and those were the Hank the Cowdog series and the Captain Underpants series, the latter I read more than mostly because it was mostly a children's graphic novel sort of series. That and I also read Calvin and Hobbes by Bill Watterson, but that's for another day. The reason why I'm a lot more excited than the other book series is because it's a graphic novel series for the young and old alike, considering it's by Scholastic, so it should be good. The books also seem to remind a lot of other child-hero book series like A Series of Unfortunate Events or Harry Potter. The books also remind of a Japanese anime Studio-Ghibli movie, which is appropriate, seeing as how the author and illustrator, Kazu Kibuishi, is Japanese-American, so it's no surprise to see were it's influence came from.
Honorable-mentions:
Lawless
No this looks to be a really cool book series; it's about a young girl who's a criminal mastermind and must somehow save the world. No I haven't been to major retail book stores lately and found this on any shelves, but this look to be a very fun series to read. And I'm kind of a sucker for the "heroic-criminal" sort of character, which we'll also see in the other honorable mentions.
Battle-Bugs series
Like I mentioned last time with the book Infestation, I was a little disappointed to know that I had very little books/book series that are part of the sci-fi genre; most of the books that are have are just fantasy, (children's)horror, classic literature, movie tie-in novels, humor-books, or young-adult novels like the Theodore Boone series. And that's a shame because this looks to be a really cool sc-fi series that looks as fun as it's covers. But hopefully it won't scare me, considering I have a childhood fear of arachnophobia.
Titanic: Voices of the Disaster
Now let just start off by saying that the infamous Titanic accident, while tragic, is one of my favorite historical-disasters off all time; if seen it in picture books when I was younger, seen a documentary of it on TV, and of course, know about the famous movie of the same name, Titanic, directed by James Cameron and also composed by James Horner, my favorite film-composer. And seeing as how I'm not really a history-buff but like to know about history(as long as I'm not in school), this should aslo be a book that I'm very, very, VERY proud to own.
Artemis Fowl series
Now here is a good example of a book series that I have heard has gotten a largely positive reception, but again, I have yet to read. I remember seeing a preview of it on the Spy Kids VHS tape on YouTube, and if I remember correctly, saw it in my local Randalls on shelves, and I think I remember seeing a preview for it on Disney Channel(maybe.). Anyways, this looks to be another great young-adult series that I can get into without complaint or annoyance, and it looks like a fun adventure-sci-fi/fantasy series that only the like of an Irish author and even got itself it's own graphic-novels between 2009, 2013, and 2014, so that sounds pretty cool.
The Land of Stories: An Author's Odyssey
I try hard not to repeat myself one to many times about stuff I'd like to get into, but this is one book that has yet to be released expect for online purchase, probably a pre-order of some sort.
And considering I'm a sucker for classic literary characters and their stories, this looks to be anothe best-seller for former Glee star Chris Colfer.
And my most anticipated book that I'd love to read is...
The Jungle Book
Now I know I really try hard not to repeat myself, but I'm practically in love with classic literature and the imagination that it can bring to me and take me to immersive settings that people like me could only dream of. And considering that the recent live-action remake by Disney is on of my favorite live-action films of theirs, this looks to be a book that can read at anytime and not complain that isn't any pictures in. It should also be known that the book itself is a series of episodic short stories, so I shouldn't complain about how long it is exactly, because even though I'm not really the kind of person who enjoys waiting, I mostly like if some of my activities are longer, giving me a better experience and overall enjoyment of how much I love my own hobbies in general. And seeing that I saw the animated Disney version of it when I was younger and have yet to see it all the way as an adult, it should hopefully become one of my favorite novels of all time, right next books like The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, Alice in Wonderland, The Trumpet of the Swan, and many more beloved books/book series that I hold near and dear to my heart.
Thanks for joining me on this list and hope to hear from you soon, and I always enjoyed it if you hear back from me, so please see if you can!
See you soon!

Good afternoon, my friends! Today was another great day of mine that I only hope can get better, and I'm a huge fan of reading, I thought I could talk about some of my most anticipated books that I hope to read this year or sooner. When it comes to reading, I usually prefer classic literature, almost anything by Scholastic, or anything that'd be considered a graphic novel, since back then when I was younger , I preferred to read anything that had pictures, but thankfully, I have an understanding of classic literature and books, so I tend to have a books on my shelf that seem to vary in demographics, but that's fine, because nearly almost any kind of books are also for adults make by adults.
I should mention that this won't really be a Top 10 list; it's more of books that I'm ranking based on how much I'm anticipated and/or excited for them.
Let's get started!
Ashoka (Star Wars novel by E.K. Johnston release-date: October 11, 2016)
Now this is the only book on this list that'll be a current book, seeing as how it's being released in the fall of this year. As I said on my Gmail account with my emails, I'm more of a causal Star Wars fan; I've only seen the beloved original trilogy, some of the prequel films, the TV series Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels, and even played some of the video games and my brother cooper has a lot of novels in the galaxy far, far, away. And seeing as how this going to be based on of the most fan-favorite characters of the franchise, it looks to be another solid entry for the recent novels. The book will be about Ashoka Tano, Jedi in-training, set after the events at the end of The Clone Wars and also the recent Rebels cartoon. It'll be interesting what happened to are favorite Jedi-turned fugitive and how she'll be copping with depression after being framed for several bombings, murder. and treason.
Strange Case of Dr. Jeykll and Mr Hyde
No we're getting into more of classic literature, seeing as how nowadays, I love to read classic stories that have been adapted into film, giving me more appreciation for the books that were based off of. Also, seeing as how I'm more into animation than live-action, I've seen this classic character in the 1994(the year I was born) family film The Pagemaster, in which he was voiced by the sadly now deceased Leonard Nimoy, it shouldn't be to hard for me to branch out to something that's a lot more frightening and scary that's also a part of the Universal Monsters horror-film franchise. And again it gives me hope of reading books that have been turned into equally-acclaimed films that both the fans of the book and audiences can appreciate together, and that'll it make for fun chills and thrills!
Infestation
It's a real shame that my book-shelf has little to no science-fiction, seeing as how the only sci-fi book I have is a Star Wars spin-off that's mean to be like Goosebumps of the franchise. And that's really a shame, because I've looked up almost everything on their website and they have almost no sci-fi novels that would seem interesting to me. But with this, it looks to be and homage to classical B-movies of the 1950's/60's, and it's also about gigantic mutant ants, which sounds pretty cool, seeing as how, as much as I love fantasy, I'm kind of more of a sci-fi sort of fan, which is reason as to why I love Transformers so much. Also, seeing as how this has ants and not spiders(I have a childhood fear of arachnophobia!), this should be a lot more comfortable for me to read, seeing as how it's only 100-something pages long, which is usually the limit that I set myself to, seeing as how I sometimes become frustrated on how long a book is. But, that's what also makes me like it more; the longer it is, the more I like it, even though I'd prefer to reader shorter books.
TombQuest series
Now that we're still on the the subject of Scholastic books, this looks to be another solid series that I can easily get into, seeing as how there's only 5 books in the series. And considering I'm kind of a sucker for Egyptian mythology(I come from a religious Christian family and I love the story of Moses), it looks to be a really fun entry into the world of fantasy, and I'm also a sucker for the cliched yet classic "good-verses-evil" kind of stories, which is a reason I love LEGO's Bionicle so much. It also got some good reviews from the internet and is also a New York Times bestseller(the first book, that is.).
The Hobbit
Going back to books that have been turned into movies/film series, I was browsing the internet today and saw this book at #25 on the BBC's The Big Read, in which 3 quarters of a million votes were received from the British public to find some of the most beloved stories of all time, and even better, my younger brother Cooper has a copy of this book. And seeing as how this is good old J.R.R. Tolken were talking about, this should be another great novel that I can appreciate the movie that it's based of off. Also, seeing as how that the live-action films aren't the only adaptation of the story, I could definitely see this as an all time classic, next to The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
That's all for now, but I'll be back tomorrow to conclude this list!
See you soon!

Middle School: The Worst Years of My Life review
by Connor Brown
Good afternoon, my fellow friends! Today is Friday and my brother and sister plan to go to an Houston Astros at Minute Maid Park in Houston, Texas, but thankfully my Mom and I will try to make are own plans for tonight. I hope for it to be a definite splurge, but not to much to the point it'd seem were spending too much. Anyways, I thought that right now, it'd be a perfect time as ever to talk about a book that I've gotten into that has a film adaption coming out in the fall in October, and that book is simply called Middle School: The Worst Years of My Life, written by bestselling author James Patterson and Chris Tebbetts, which has now become a series and, as I said earlier, has an upcoming film adaptation coming October 7, 2016.
But that's for another day, as we are going into how I got into the book to begin with. I remember seeing the trailer for the film that the book was based off of when I saw Zootopia as on of it's previews. This immediately sparked imagination and I remember buying the book at a Barnes and Noble in Sugarland a few months back, and now, I have that I've finished it, and let me tell you that I love it! It has it all; a creative and interesting story, memorable characters, sophisticated and mature writing, great-humor, imaginative-illustrations, and a simple yet poignant message of "normal is boring."
Now, on the the plot: the book is about Rafe Khatchadorian, a young boy who is just starting middle-school and is starting to have problems that come with adolescence; his sister Georgia is an obnoxious tattle-tale, his mom Jules works late hours at a dinner and has a verbally-abusive boyfriend whom Rafe nicknames "Bear", and he has a crush on Jeanne Galleta, who is also one of his only friends at school. So, in order to coup with his boring school-life, he then makes a plan with his best friend Leonardo called "Operation R.A.F.E.",which is sort for Rules Aren't For Everyone, in which he intends to break every role in the school's Code of Conduct. The books has a very intelligent and outright tone, meaning that Rafe himself is trying to break the rules at school because he's fed up with it's strict rules, and he also set some guidelines in order to become somewhat honorable and by that his one rule from "Operation R.A.F.E." is that no one gets hurt, but that go's about as well as you'd expect, and he also is willing to accept harsh consequences in hopes of a better life/future. But's not just Rafe that's also memorable. There's Jules, Rafe's mother who constantly has to deal with her son's trouble-making and her boyfriend's slob-like antics, but she does her best and is not ashamed to admit that she's done things he's not happy about like her son. There's Jeanne Galleta, Rafe's crush as well as one of his only friends at school who eventually finds out about "Operation R.A.F.E.", but is very understanding and is willing to help Rafe with his homework. Leo or just Leonardo is Rafe's best friend and is also helping Rafe come up with was on how to break rules at school and is also a HUGE plot-element that has to do with Rafe's family. Georgia is Rafe's annoyingly obnoxious and bratty sister who constantly argues with Rafe and is also a victim of Bear's verbel abuse, something that dose not sit well with Rafe. Speaking of which, he's just that; lazy, slobish, hot-headed, aggressive, and barley even cares about Jules or her children, but he dose at least make somewhat progress near the end of the story. There's Miller "The Killer", the school bully who serves as a major source of conflict and also steals his plans for "Operation R.A.F.E." to the point were Rafe beats him up. And finally, there's Mrs. Donatello, whom Rafe nicknames the "Dragon Lady", whom also serves as a source of conflict, but was later reveled to try and help Rafe and later turns out to be dead. Now, onto the book's creative-illustrations(as shown down here).
See what I mean? Despite having a black-and-white color, it's really nice to look at, thanks to illustrator Laura Park, who really put all of her passion into this book, making it feel more like a graphic-novel than a children's book, which I liked what she did. It really immerses you in these drawings as if they were done by some kid in middle-school, which is appropriate, seeing as how the main character is a talented drawer and loves to draw, just like me.
Now that I've seen how good this book looks, no you know why you should read it; it's got memorable characters, great-humor, excellent-illustrations, intelligent and thought-intriguing writing, and a solid message of normal is boring. I should also mention that, if you have a copy of the book, there are pages of previews of other children's books that James has done for, like the sequel to this book, Middle School: Get Me Out of Here!, House of Robots, Treasure Hunters, and I Funny.
And since this done by James Patterson(besides Chris Tebbetts and Laura Park), I'm really excited for getting into other children's books by James Patterson. But, since I'm more into classic literature and stuff by Scholastic, there is one book/series the I'd like to get into and it's THIS!
The Land of Stories: The Wishing Spell
If there is anything, that I love just as, if not more than classic literature, it's mostly reading from books that are nowadays being republished for younger demographics, and this is one series that I'm DYING to get into and here's why: it's got a interesting-enough plot, classic fairy-tale characters that we all know and love, and cool-looking locations that seem REALLY immersive that only a fairy-tale children's books series could have.
That's all for today. but I'll back to write on this blog.

My Most Anticipated Video Game Releases of 2016
by Connor Brown
Good afternoon, my friends an amigos! Today, since we have a long and beautiful summer to look forward to, I thought I could do something a bit different. It's not really a Top 10 list, but it is a list of some of my most anticipated video-games releases of 2016. Since there have been games released recently both good and bad, I thought I could talk about games that have yet to be released yet, but look potentially promising given what kind of games they are. Now for this list of anticipated games, I'm setting some ground rules that should be noted:
Shantae- Half-Genie Hero
Coming form a recent games series that is the forth entry in a series of games that have been praised for it's 2.5D gameplay and catchy-game music. And, seeing as how it's a crowd-funded game instead of a non-profit organization, it looks to be another great game for gamers who are fans of 2D platformers and looks to be something that anyone can pick up and play and they can get used to the game's challenging difficulty. Also, considering, it's be released on EVERY single console that's out nowadays(even more older ones the the PS3 and Xbox 260), it hopefully shouldn't be to hard to find it at game-retailers near us.
Mighty No. 9
In case you didn't know, I LOVE the science-fiction genre, and even there is anything I love just as, if not more in the sci-fi genre, it's robots. Robotic beings that are mechanical and emotionless, yet they can show that they are somewhat human, despite their metal exterior. And considering that this game is inspired by the Mega-Man game series and another crowd-funded game, it shouldn't be to hard for this to become another great 2D platform favorite among the gaming community. The game itself was originally scheduled to be released on February 9, 2016, but it was delayed to to glitches/bugs in the game, so the final release date is for June 2016, so it hopefully will be worth it by then.
Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens
NOW we are getting to some of the most popular series of games for all ages(well, at least for older audiences with an E 10+ rating) that are based on some the most popular film franchises of all time. And considering this is getting released the same year as the equally-anticipated Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, saying a lot. What I'm really excited for this game is that it'll be taking place during events after after Return of the Jedi and before The Force Awakens respectively. Another thing that I like is all the actors and actresses that are from the Force Awakens will be reprising their roles for this game. It'l also introduce an all-new building system that'll allow players to either build or destroy in the brick-building sections of the game, and another new game-element included will be "Blaster-Battles", in which players can hide and cover between shooting sections of the gun-fighting parts of the game.
With returning cast-members, all-new game-elements, and humor that only LEGO could deliver, this looks to be another solid entry for LEGO video-games to come.
Honorable-mentions:
The Last Guardian
Oh, boy. This looks to be a VERY anticipated release of this year. Mostly because it's being made by the same creators of the acclaimed Shadow of the Colossus and Ico games; it was first announced in 2009, but sadly suffered many delays and other complications; it was then ported over the the PS4 in 2012, and is FINALLY getting a game release this year.
Yooka-Layle
Darn it, did I wanna put this on the list, but it's been delayed for a 2017 release, and I was so looking forward to it, as it was going to be release for this year! But since the creators pushed it back so it could be be polished for it's final-state, I can't really blame them for that, and consider it's being made by the same team who made Banjo-Kazooie, I shouldn't feel too bummed out.
Skylanders:Imaginators
I
By the way...Mom loves Connor very much!!!(Thank-you, Mom-Bomb!)
I personally never was I fan of the Skylanders series, considering that it stared the beloved Spyro the Drago, who was now a toy and not a character, it thankfully turned out for the better. And since this is the 6th game in the series that officially has it's own merchandise(plush-toys, clothing, towels, fruit-snacks, Happy Meal toys, novels, etc.), it should hopefully be another well-received entry, and consider I'm more into Disney Infinity that's been officially canceled, this game should hopefully save the toys-to-life series of video games.
And now for one DISHONORABLE mention:
Sonic-Boom:Fire and Ice
Coming after the disastrous sales and reception of Sonic Boom: The Rise of Lyric, I am NOT looking forward for this game to come out. If you've seen the trailer, you'll know what I mean. And considering that was a huge Sonic fan during my elementary-school years, this looks to be an absolute disgrace to the once beloved blue hedgehog that was once SEGA's best selling games series of all time.
And my most anticipated video-game release of 2016 is....
Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue
Seeing as how I'm a HUGE Disney fan, I'm extremely and cautiously optimistic about this being the first game in the series to be released for the PlayStation 4, and it'll include Dream Drop Distance exclusively from the Nintendo 3DS and 2 new additions to the game's compilation, being Kingdom Hearts x Backcover and the staring feature, Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth By Sleep- A Fragmentary Passage, which will be a short episode set after Dream Drop Distance, and seeing as how I have yet to beat a single game in the series, I better complete them in time in order for this to come in order for the highly anticipated 3-entry in the series, Kingdom Hearts 3. I also like how the look of the game will be in HD presentation and will feel as if Kingdom Hearts 3 will be played, which I hope gets more attention, and the games itself is to be released in December of this year, but let's not hope it's rushed for Christmas-time.
That's all for today, but hope to write to you all about more releases of this year.
Your friend, Connor!
by Connor Brown
Good afternoon, my friends an amigos! Today, since we have a long and beautiful summer to look forward to, I thought I could do something a bit different. It's not really a Top 10 list, but it is a list of some of my most anticipated video-games releases of 2016. Since there have been games released recently both good and bad, I thought I could talk about games that have yet to be released yet, but look potentially promising given what kind of games they are. Now for this list of anticipated games, I'm setting some ground rules that should be noted:
- Games have been unreleased yet
- Games that are on current game consoles(ex: Wii U, PS4)
- Games that are being released only for 2016
Shantae- Half-Genie Hero

Good afternoon, my fellow internet following-friends, this is Connor Brown! Today is another fine day in June, and even though my birthday is at least 5 months away, I'd thought I'd write to you about my possible plans that have planed ahead for my birthday this year.
Plan A) Since I have a some that has plenty of time and opportunities to do stuff that hasn't been completed yet, my Mom and I have been suggesting wither or not we could possibly go to this really cool-looking arcade called Tilt-Studio in the Katy Mills Mall in Katy, Texas.
Tilt-Studio(or just called Tilt and/or Tilt Family Entertainment Center) is a series of video arcades that are in various shopping malls across the USA that are basically are great catalyst for birthdays and/or family gatherings. And considering that are beloved Incredible Pizza closed down in Sugarland most recently closed down, in hopefully shouldn't be to hard for all this fun to happen.
Plan B) Growing up, I've unashamedly been a huge Disney fan, both young and old, watching the animated movies old and new, seen some of the best animated-TV shows from Disney Television Animation(ex: Gravity Falls, Gargoyles, Star vs. The Forces of Evil, Aladdin: the Series, DuckTales) seen some of their live-action films, and I'm very anticipated and excited for the newest animated-musical, Moana.
I'm excited for a number of reasons, but I'll try to make it quick.
For those who don't know, Ron and John are the directors for making some of the most beloved animated Disney films such as Aladdin, The Little Mermaid, Hercules, Treasure Planet, The Great Mouse Detective, and The Princess and the Frog. This'll be the first computer-animated film, and they'll also be using hand-drawn animation for the character of Maui. And they found out that CGI is better at sculpting faces of Southern Pacific people of the Polynesians than 2D is.
Also for those who don't know, Lin-Manuel Miranda is the composer/song-writer/rapper for the recent hit Broadway musical, Hamilton. He recent left the show, probably to work on the music for this film, and even though it's not Alan Menken returning, I do like how they brought back Mark Mancina, who not only composed music for blockbuster films like Speed, Con Air, and Twister, but he's also helped arrange the songs for The Lion King as well worked on the music for other Disney films like Brother Bear, Tarzan, and The Haunted Mansion and also wrote an arrangement of "When You Wish Upon a Star" for the current Walt Disney Pictures logo that first appeared in 2006.
That's right, folks, well be getting former WWE wrestler and box-office brawn actor as a all-new Disney-character! How cool is that?! And to even spice it up, he will sing and it will be some sort of rap, which hopefully should be good. And this'll be the debut of young Hawaiian native Auli'i Cravalho, who was chosen out of the hundreds of young women for the title character, I know that she'll be excellent for this role.
I'm thinking that I could see it at Katy Mills Mall, since Tilt Studio is also their as well.
Plan C) Play board games/video games and eat Cane's chicken at my house
If Plan A doesn't happen, that I could at least use this plan as a last-minute resort in order to have a good birthday and spend time at home with my family and eat Cane's chicken and play board-games(or possibly play video games).
Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers, or Cane's as I like to call it, is a chain of fast-food restaurant that serves chicken stripes and/or other chicken related-foods and is also my favorite fast-food restaurant to get chicken at. And as for the activities at home for fun-
I figured that I could play Clue with my friends and family as well as play video-games on my Wii-U with just my brother and sister, since my parents wouldn't know how to play it, but that'd be fine with me.
Hope you enjoyed this blog post, check back next time when I've found something interesting to talk about. Thanks for watching!

Good evening, ladies and gentleman. Tonight, I thought instead of making a Top 10 list or talk about one of my favorite animated shows, I thought I could talk about what I'd like to do this summer, and also set some goals that could at least completed by the end of August. For one, I'd like to finish ALL of my books that I got at Half Price Books and Barnes and Noble. Some of the books that I got were stuff that were by Scholastic, usually stuff like Goosebumps, the more recent history-disaster anthology series I Survived, books that aren't even sold anymore(even the there's been recent remake based of original said series' spin-off books), like the Bionicle short novellas and chapter books, catch up with all of the A Series of Unfortunate Events books in time for the upcoming Netflix series, as well as possibly start with recent series Spirit Animals as well as read classic literature like The Wind in the Willows(even though I didn't get it at Half Price Books or Barns and Noble, I got it for Easter from my grandmother.). What I'd really like to do this summer(aside from finish books that haven't been finished yet like my Wizard of Oz compilation book I got in the summer of 2014), is read more books that are classic literature like The Jungle Book by Rudyard Kipling. The reason I mentioned the latter is because I saw the 2016 live-action Disney film that was remake of the 1967 animated film and I'd really love to read books that are mostly classic literature and/or almost anything by Scholastic. Speaking of classic literature, I've been somewhat interested in wanting to get into a more recent book series, The Land of Stories(by Chris Colfer, of Glee fame of all people), a book series about 2 twins siblings who a transported to titular Land of Stories, were they end up meeting several famous fairy-tale characters, like Red Riding Hood, Jack from Jack and the Beanstalk, Cinderella, who is now a queen and is also pregnant, and even a humanoid frog former-prince literally named Froggy. It sounds really interesting since it uses all the classic fairy-tale characters that we all know and love. Another thing I'd like to do this summer is play Wii U games with my family; my sister has only play games like Mario Kart 8, Super Mario 3D World, and Super Smash Bros for Wii U and 3DS and it would be a blast to play it all with them(if only I could find the other Wii Remote!). I'd also like to see movies that have been well-received and have become box-office powerhouses, like
Captain America: Civil War(which I have yet to seen), The BFG(based of the Roald Dahl book of the same name, which I've read)which will be legendary Steven Spielberg's first Disney film, and eat out at Cane's chicken restaurant.
That'll be all for tonight, but hope you've had fun reading this email of my to-do stuff for summer of 2016. See you later!!!

Hello everyone, this is Connor. I'm sorry that I haven't done anymore blogs like this, I've gotten my own Google email account thanks to my mother. For the last few months I have been writing blogs for a young woman named Stephanie who is immobile and most move around with a motorized wheel chair and is just recently in the hospital for medical procedures. With that out of the way, I'd thought I'd like to talk about book I've just finished and I'm now writing a book review about. And that book is The Trumpet of the Swan. It's about a young Trumpeter Swan naked Louis that is unable to speak. His father feels pity for him, so he decides that out of love and compassion, to steal a trumpet from a music store for his son. Afterwards, Louis befriends a young boy named Sam Beaver, who the latter takes an imitate liking to. After Louis becomes a hit with the trumpet he then tries to impress his childhood love, Serena. This book is not just a children's book, it's a book for adults, made by books for adults. It's one of the books that you cannot put down once you read it. The themes in this book seem to be about overcoming your disabilities, and if you can truly rise to the top and become the best of the best. And despite not featuring a main villain, (though there may be an animal predator that threatens to devour the Swan family) the main conflict is that fact that Louis himself is trying to juggle his personal life and his professional life. He's doing his best to to try and make a living and attempt to restore his father's honor and grace. The other characters we focus on are Louis' parents, who are never named(even the movie, which I'll talk about. HORRIBLE!) help Louis with his own inability to speak, like all great parents. The main HUMAN character is Sam Beaver, a young boy who becomes fascinated by the Trumpeter Swan family and later befriends their Louis. Another thing I'm always fascinated by in fiction is the friendship between a boy and his animal companion, and this story is no exception. As Sam Beaver and Louis becomes closer, Louis begins to practice better into a professional trumpet player. And that's what the message of this book is. That, no matter who or what we are, if we learn to overcome our disabilities, we can truly reach our dreams, and never give no matter what.
That's it for this review but I'll try to be back soon.
